Phil Garrison
Dr. Phil Garrison grew up in Arkansas and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Hendrix College with a bachelor’s degree in English. He was a latecomer to the veterinary world as he discovered that he enjoyed working with animals while doing medical research with pigs at the Arkansas Children’s Hospital after college. He worked as a veterinary technician in Chicago for six years, during which time he met his future wife, Melissa. He finally made the leap to become a veterinarian by moving to Massachusetts to attend Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. After graduation, he returned to Chicago to work at Roscoe Village Animal Hospital. Dr. Garrison’s professional interests include dentistry, internal medicine, and client education.
Dr. Garrison and his wife have a son named Max, a dog named Steve, and a cat named Jenna. When he finds the time, Phil likes to write and record music with his friends, cook for the family, read voraciously, bicycle around the city, attend concerts, and travel with his family.
